Race Details

This Hillclimb will be contested on exactly the same course as the historic Mt. Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb – the toughest Hillclimb in the world. This addition is in response to the overwhelming popularity of the MWARBH and this year will benefit the Mt. Washington Valley Bicycling Club. In addition to a percentage of the proceeds being donated to this organization, junior racers will also have the opportunity to enter by raising money directly for the non-profit.

The intent of this second Hillclimb is to satisfy the demand for bicycle racing on this hill and to raise money, but it will only be conducted in a way that will not hinder the Tin Mountain Conservation Center’s ability to raise funds in the future through the annual Mt Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb held in August. This climb will mirror the original and only be held if the MWARBH fills completely. Newton’s Revenge is limited to 600 racers.

Emergency Event Support

  • Along the 7.6 mile course-there are brown mile marker signs and brown elevation signs.

Central NH Amateur Radio Club (CNHARC): This club is with us every year on a volunteer basis.  We could not hold this race without their support.  They will be positioned at the base of the Auto Road, at every mile marker, 1/2 way and on the summit.  They will be in vehicles signed CNHARC or look for the many antennas attached to their vehicles.

  • If you do not make it to the summit please make sure you check in with the Amateur Radio Operator. If you walk back down to the base check in at the base station located on the Auto Road to the left of the entrance to the tent area. The building will be signed Amateur Radio Support.
  • Emergency Medical Support is positioned at the base, 1/2 way and at the summit.
  • Water will be provided at the summit after you cross the finish line. There are no water stops along the course – you will need to carry your own water during the race.
